Take an Arduino Leonardo, add every kind of sensor imaginable, and make it look like a video game controller. That's the Arduino Esplora. It has a piezo speaker, a microphone, four pushbutton switches, an analog joystick, linear pot, temperature sensor, accelerometer, as well as a socket for a TFT LCD screen, two Tinkerkit inputs and two Tinkerkit outputs.
It looks like a great way to experiment with microcontrollers and electronics with no pre-requisite knowledge at all.
