SolarBotics SB Freeduino

SolarBotics SB Freeduino

The Solarbotics SB-Freeduino is not free. It is a very good improvement on the Arduino Diecimila, offered in semi-kit form. Although the kit is intended to make it "cost saving", it costs about $3.00 less than an Arduino Uno. If you like to assemble things electronic, which I think we all do, this is worth it. There are choices you can make while assembling it that give you some flexibility. The board is pinned out for either a USB B or a USB mini-B connector. There is a power switch, and the FTDI USB chip I/O is capable of re-flashing the MCU. No Arduino can do that.
